Rolling
Crashing
Screaming
Screaming at an unnamed ocean
Suspended above our heads
Grey in protest
Of the incessant noise
Suffocation never managed to quiet
Waves
Too chaotic to breath
As black velvet descends
On vacant minds
Stiff from disuse
We dig our fingers into it
And rend it from the stage
Until the earth wears it
A robe of raven's feathers
Writhing under stars
Waves
Cold against icy toes
Dug deep into hypothermic sand
Plucking all that glitters
From the earth and skies
To adorn collective pockets
And live the rest of its life in a fish bowl
Waves
Hushed
In the falling night
So much quieter
Than falling in love
As they crash
Against the sky
In a fiery finale
Waves
Shimmers of obsidian
Tucked in for the night
Hissing
Against the inky rain
That pools in our tear ducts
While we cry
Quicksilver

Not my best work, but I'll probably write something similar eventually that's more descriptive, my mind isn't working quite right at the moment.
Inspired by Lake Superior as I was walking along the shore collecting beach glass in the rain as it got steadily darker. No better place to be.
